Public Input Sought on Antrim County Facilities Options

BELLAIRE, MI – Antrim County is inviting the public to a community forum to share ideas on options for the future of the County’s jail and administrative buildings in Bellaire. The forum will take place on Tuesday, April 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Meguzee Hall at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, located at 4543 South M-88 in Bellaire.

Antrim County is exploring options for building or reconstructing the County Jail and administrative buildings, both within the Courthouse Square in the center of the Village of Bellaire and on the southern border of the Village limits. A report developed in 2018 identified a number of options and early estimates on cost.

Now, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners is seeking input from the public. What are the community’s top priorities for new facilities? What factors should be a part of the decision-making process? What impacts do or could the County’s facilities have on the surrounding community, and the County as a whole? The April 23 forum will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about options for facilities, propose new ideas, and discuss these questions.

The community forum is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. Light refreshments will be provided. If you’re unable to attend, information on options, and opportunities to comment, will be available after the event at nwm.org/antrimcounty.
