Youth Career Advisor

Northwest Michigan Works! is seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to fulfill the role of Youth Career Advisor in Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Antrim, and Kalkaska counties. The selected candidate will help young adults create career goals that are achievable, and will support them as they make decisions and take action to realize those goals. As a Youth Career Advisor your work will assist young adults as they work to overcome barriers to education and employment.

The Youth Career Advisor will also act as a mentor, empowering their customers to make life-changing decisions by providing appropriate and specific evaluation, analysis, and problem-solving skills; and work to connect them with services they need to achieve their employment goals.

Transportation Planner

Networks Northwest is adding a dynamic and creative Transportation Planner to its regional Community Development team.

Having an emphasis on transportation and infrastructure programs, this position will also incorporate other aspects of regional planning program work.  This Traverse City based position will have you working in one of the most desirable regions of Michigan.

Program work for this position includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Assisting the department in transportation program development and acting as a liaison with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), local units of government, and transportation agencies;
  • Implementing the department’s transportation programs including Asset Management, Rural Task Force, Small Urban Task Force, Pure Michigan Byways;
  • Full lifecycle management of community development and regional planning projects;
  • Assist with development of grant applications and reporting for grants obtained through the Community Development Department.
