Thesurvey was targeted to businesses of all sizes, within all industries, throughout the 10-county region. Survey development began in spring 2021, with input and feedback from numerous area stakeholders.Thefinalsurveywascomprehensiveandrepresentativeofagreatregionaleffort.ThisisthefirstregionalwagesurveyfornorthwestLowerMichigansince2013.Thecurrentresearch was initiated to provide updated, reliable wage data for businesses located in thenorthwest Lower region of Michigan.The goal was to present wage data - hourly and salary - by job title, grouped within job families.Toprovidestructureforinput,stakeholdersdefined29jobfamiliescontainingatotalof677jobtitles. Survey respondents were asked to provide wage datahourly or salaryfor each job title representedwithintheircompany.Reportedwagesincludeonlybasesalary-bonusandbenefitdata were not requested, though respondents had the opportunity to report on these types of benefits,asofferedattheircompany,throughaseriesofothervariables.This report was created by CS Research & Consulting (CSRC) in collaboration withNetworks Northwest.1.2MethodologyThe 2022 Wage Survey was web-based, designed and analyzed using Survey Monkey.Invites to participate in the survey were sent in one of two ways: 1) through Constant Contact, with an embedded link, or 2) through partner direct email, with a weblink.Constant Contact InviteNetworks Northwest generated a 10-county wide contact list through Constant Contact,consisting of all existing email lists within the agency.Membership lists from eight partnerswilling to share were then added, with this master list scanned and edited for removal ofduplicate addresses.The initial survey invite was sent to the resulting master list - Networks Northwests contact list, including partner provided membership lists - on March 14, 2022, with a requested completion dateofApril1.AreminderemailwassentonMarch24,andonApril4afinalemailwassentindicatingthecompletiondeadlinehadbeenextendedtoApril8.1Antrim,Benzie,Charlevoix,Emmet,GrandTraverse,Kalkaska,Leelanau,Manistee,Missaukee,Wexford2The March 14 invite was sent to 3,798 email addresses, with 3,555 delivered and 1,232 opened.
