TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Job seekers across the region will have the chance to meet face to face with local employers when Northwest Michigan Works! hosts the 2nd Annual Fall into a New Job! Hiring Event on Friday, November 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Networks Northwest Conference Center, 1209 S. Garfield Avenue in Traverse City.
Following its debut last year, the event returns with a new date, a longer window for connecting with employers, and Jimmy John’s as lunch sponsor. Participating employers include Great Lakes Potato Chip Co., Gardner White Furniture & Mattress, Wayne Wire, Cintas, MAG Insulation and more. With each employer hiring now for full-time, part-time, seasonal, and permanent positions.
Employers who took part in the first event say the face-to-face format delivers results. “I met five potential candidates and made a hire later that week,” said Merry Hawley, HR Director.
“Hiring conversations go better in person, and we’re glad to give the community another opportunity to have them,” said Lisa Morgan-Cole, Business Services Representative at Northwest Michigan Works!. “Employers can put a face to their openings, and job seekers can ask questions, share their experience, and often learn about roles they didn’t know existed. Our goal is to make that first step easy.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their résumés to share with employers. The event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is available at nwm.org/falljobfairtc2026.

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
