New Career Café Express Offered at Northwest Michigan Works!
TRAVERSE CITY, MI –Northwest Michigan Works! is packaging together some of its most popular job search workshops at a new Career Café Express May 19 and 20 in Traverse City. The workshops will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days at the Career Café located inside the Michigan Works! Center at 1209 S. Garfield.
The first day of the Career Café Express will include the Charting Your Course workshop which focuses on a variety of job search skills, and the Résumé Development workshop. Day two will feature the Strategic Interviewing workshop, and the Résumé Lab to help job seekers fine-tune their résumés and learn how to most effectively post them online.
Each of the workshops is normally offered separately on a regular basis by Northwest Michigan Works!. Putting all four of them together in the two-day Career Café Express is designed to make it more convenient for job seekers to attend the workshops, and to stress how all the factors work together for the best job search outcomes.
Job seekers are encouraged to attend all four of the workshops. Those who do will receive a certificate of completion, a comprehensive reference workbook, and a completed résumé. There is no cost to attend any of workshops.

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
