Michigan Works Offers Career Connection for Veterans
Veterans will have an opportunity to learn about job opportunities and improve their job search skills at a series of Northwest Michigan Works! Career Connection meetings in Acme. The first meeting will be held August 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bravo Zulu Brewing.
“The Veterans Appreciation Day we held in July at Bravo Zulu was a great success so we wanted to schedule more events to assist local veterans,” said Kathy Taylor, Northwest Michigan Works! Operations Manager.
The August 26 Career Connection will feature a discussion led by veterans and Michigan Works staff, and will include information about services for veterans, transferability of skills, where to look for jobs, and some personal stories. Additional Career Connection meetings at Bravo Zulu will be held September 23 and October 28 and will focus on starting a business and hiring practices for veterans.
Bravo Zulu Brewing is owned and operated by local veteran Jeff Brooks. The microbrewery is located at 6060 US-31 North in Acme. More information about Career Connection is available at: nwm.org/careerconnection.
