IT Career Fair - Northwest Michigan Works!
Michigan Works! IT Career Fair

Traverse City—Northwest Michigan Works! is hosting an Information Technology (IT) Career Fair Tuesday, April 9 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. The career fair will feature Information Technology positions with local employers along with information and resources for people considering IT careers.
Employers at the job fair will be recruiting qualified candidates for current open positions in:
- Network Administration
- Web Development
- Tech Support
- Database Administration
Employers participating in the Career Fair include: Auto-Owners Insurance; EJ; Hagerty Insurance; Interlochen Center for the Arts; Janco International; MTI Market Technologies; RJG Inc.; SafetyNet; Versus Technology; Wyant Computer Services; and more. Representatives from Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and Ferris State University (FSU) will be available to answer questions about education and training opportunities for anyone interested in IT careers. Three breakout sessions, facilitated by NMC and FSU, will provide overviews from IT industry experts and details on related educational programs.
"Last year, we had an incredible turnout of employers and job seekers, and more than a dozen hires were made as a result," said Jaclyn Sanborn, Northwest Michigan Council of Governments Business Connections Manager. " This year, in addition to employer/job seeker networking, we've organized activities for youth and adults to explore careers in IT by hearing presentations made by IT professionals and by learning about local educational programs that can give someone a leg up in this rapidly growing industry."
Anyone interested in attending the IT Career Fair should register by April 4 at nwm.org/IT to receive preferred access to the Career Fair. Walk-ins will still be welcome on the day of the event.
Job seekers attending the event should bring at least 12 copies of their résumé and be prepared for a professional, onsite interview. More information is available at: nwm.org/IT.
