NORTHWEST LOWER, MI– As Michigan continues to lead the way in electric vehicle (EV) innovation, Northwest Michigan Works! is helping EV industry employers build a highly skilled workforce. Through a new workforce training initiative, employers can access training reimbursements, employment services, and support programs to upskill workers and fill critical roles in the growing EV sector.
Employers in the EV industry—whether manufacturing EV components, building infrastructure, or servicing electric vehicles—are encouraged to connect with Northwest Michigan Works! to explore how this initiative can support workforce development and business growth. The grant allows for training reimbursements to employers and supports for those that go through the training.
“This program is a win-win for Michigan businesses and workers,” said Rob Dickinson, Business Services Regional Director at Northwest Michigan Works! “By partnering with us, employers can strengthen their workforce, reduce training costs, and ensure they have the talent needed to stay competitive in the EV industry.”

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
