Starting a Business Workshop - Petoskey

The Starting a Business Workshop is intended for individuals in the beginning stages of starting a business, in need of accessing capital, or simply considering self-employment. Delivered in a workshop format, this introductory session helps aspiring entrepreneurs assess their abilities to lead and manage a company, as well as evaluate market and sales potential for their products/services. Start-up costs, financing options, and business planning are introduced, along with necessary steps to getting started. This workshop is held in partnership with North Central Michigan College, features instruction by SBDC Business Consultant Kathleen Bagley, and is a pre-requisite to meeting with a SBDC consultant one-on-one. The Starting a Business workshop is intended for individuals in the beginning stages of starting a business, in need of accessing capital, or simply considering self-employment. Delivered in a workshop format, this introductory session helps aspiring entrepreneurs assess their abilities to lead and manage a company, as well as evaluate market and sales potential for their products/services. This comprehensive 2.5 hour workshop also incorporates the SBDC’s fundamental Writing a Business Plan workshop and fully covers topics such as determining concept feasibility, startup costs, financing options, the basics of business planning, along with other necessary resources to launch. The workshop features instruction by SBDC Small Business Consultant, Joni Krolczyk, and is held in partnership with Baker College of Cadillac at the West Shore Medical Education Center, Classroom 2, 1465 East Parkdale (US 31). The workshop is a pre-requisite to meeting with a SBDC consultant one-on-one. Associates Certificate in Federal Contracting, Operating Practices in Contract Administration (5 day course) May 15-19

Northwest Michigan PTAC is facilitating a series of government contracting courses to be delivered by TwentyEighty Strategy Execution (formerly ESI International). Upon successfully completing the required three courses, you will receive an Associate's Certificate in Contract Management awarded by Strategy Execution and The George Washington University. This is intensvie training on acquisition regulations, what contracting officers must do to select contractors and award contracts, and what contractors need to do post award to perform successfully on a contract. These classes will be held via live virtual instruction; meaning there will be designated days and times that the classes will be held with a live instructor, but the material will be delivered virtually. The virtual class significantly reduces the cost of attending as these classes are typically held in other states and require a week of travel to attend.

Know Your Numbers: Using Your Financial Statements to Better Manage Your Business, Workshop - Manistee
