Elementary School Students Participate in Career Innovation Day
Over 200 K-5 students at Traverse Heights Elementary School in Traverse City participated in a Career Innovation Day. The event included a variety of vehicles connected to different careers and presentations by businesses and other community partners who helped the students learn about a variety of job skills. High School Seniors Learn About Local Career Opportunities
More than 200 high school seniors from Buckley, Kingsley, Manton, and Mesick attended a Career Day at Kingsley High School. Over 30 employers and college representatives participated in the event which also included workshops on Michigan Works! services and filling out the FAFSA. Watch the video to find out more.
Skilled Trades Career Fair for Students at Brethren
More than 400 Students from Kaleva Norman Dickson and Bear Lake Schools learned about local opportunities for skilled trades careers at a hands-on Career Fair in Brethren. A Northwest Michigan Works! Career Facilitator who works with schools in the region organized the event to raise awareness of the trades and local opportunities, and to initiate curiosity for the students to learn more through interactive activities.
