Local veterans will be recognized at a special event Monday, November 7 at Northwest Michigan Works! in Traverse City. The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Michigan Works! Center, 1209 South Garfield.
The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the presentation of colors by the American Legion and VFW. Also participating in the event will be representatives from the U.S. Armed Forces, local veterans resource providers, and staff and horses from Reigning Liberty Ranch. Hot dogs will be provided by the National Guard and veterans will be able to learn about services available at the Veterans Resource area at the Career Café inside the Michigan Works! Center.
Along with Monday’s event, Northwest Michigan Works! will be recognizing veterans throughout the week of November 7 at each of its Centers. Veterans are encouraged to visit Michigan Works! Centers in Cadillac, Manistee, Petoskey, or Traverse City to receive a gift and learn about veterans services.
The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
