Talent Tour Helps Students Learn About Hospitality and Marketing Careers
Students from the Hospitality, Retailing, and Entrepreneurship program at the Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center participated in a Talent Tour at the Little River Casino Resort near Manistee. The tour gave the students an opportunity to learn about marketing, hospitality, and culinary careers. Watch the video to learn more.
"[The Talent Tour] shows us exactly what we can do, because in the classroom you're just learning out of book and you don't actually get to experience it." said Rachel Makowski, marketing student.
"I learned that there is a lot more marketing that goes into it that we don't know about, that they have to do a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff for everything to take place," said marketing student Kenzie Voorhees.
"To be honest I didn't really think about jobs at a casino before; it just never really crossed my mind. [Today's tour] shows now that stuff like marketing, retailing, and stuff like that have a bigger impact than I thought they did. And it shows that a career in something like this might be a good choice," said student Peter Suski.

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
