New Career Café Express Offered at Northwest Michigan Works!

Northwest Michigan Works! is packaging together some of its most popular job search workshops at a new Career Café Express May 19 and 20 in Traverse City. The workshops will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days at the Career Café located inside the Michigan Works! Center at 1209 S. Garfield.

The first day of the Career Café Express will include the Charting Your Course workshop which focuses on a variety of job search skills, and the Résumé Development workshop. Day two will feature the Strategic Interviewing workshop, and the Résumé Lab to help job seekers fine-tune their résumés and learn how to most effectively post them online.

Each of the workshops is normally offered separately on a regular basis by Northwest Michigan Works!. Putting all four of them together in the two-day Career Café Express is designed to make it more convenient for job seekers to attend the workshops, and to stress how all the factors work together for the best job search outcomes.

Job seekers are encouraged to attend all four of the workshops. Those who do will receive a certificate of completion, a comprehensive reference workbook, and a completed résumé. There is no cost to attend any of workshops.

Our Township greatly benefits from Network Northwest's experience, depth of knowledge and understanding. Because they work with so many diverse communities in our ten-county region they understand the local land-use issues and are already working on solutions by the time we realize we need some help.
