Networks Northwest's Longest Serving Employee Receives Standing Ovation Award

Networks Northwest Benefits and Accounting Coordinator, Mary Clark, has received the Networks Northwest Standing Ovation Award for 2018. Clark was recognized for being an exceptional individual who represents many, if not all of Networks Northwest’s core values, day in and day out. The Standing Ovation Award was presented by Networks Northwest CEO, Matt McCauley, at the organization’s annual All Staff Meeting.

Mary started working for what was then known as the Northwest Michigan Manpower Consortium in August of 1978. That organization went on to become the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments and is now Networks Northwest. Mary has always been in the Accounting Department and has worked for three different CEOs. With more than 40 years of service, she has been with the organization longer than anyone else on staff.  When Mary started, the office was in the Coal Dock Building on M-22, followed by moves to Union Street, the Alpha Center on US-31 South, the NMC University Center (two different sections), and finally, Front Street.

Congratulations, Mary, on your Standing Ovation Award and over 40 years of service to the organization!

In addition to the annual Standing Ovation Award, Networks Northwest also presents quarterly Values in Action Awards that spotlight employees who exemplify the organization’s Core Values of excellence, integrity, empowerment, innovation, optimism, collaboration, and/or celebration.

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
