Michigan Works! Offers Career Connection at Career Café in Traverse City


Job seekers will have the chance to learn about job opportunities and improve their job search skills by getting involved with the new Career Connection at the Career Café in Traverse City. The Career Café is located inside the Northwest Michigan Works! Traverse City Service Center at 1209 South Garfield Avenue. The Career Connection will meet on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. beginning September 5.

“Career Connection at the Career Café is a great way to connect to resources, to people, and to jobs,” said Janie McNabb, Northwest Michigan Works! chief operating officer. “It’s all about giving job seekers a chance to learn about opportunities and the most effective job search strategies.”

Career Connection provides “mini training” for approximately a half-hour. Afterward, Michigan Works! staff will be available to provide career advising. The September 5 Career Connection will focus on networking. Topics for future sessions include job search, résumés, and cover letters. The meetings are open to all job seekers and there is no charge to attend.
