Meeting Set to Review Upcoming and Previous Road Construction Seasons in Traverse City Area
A transportation information event is being held March 19th in Traverse City to provide a recap of 2018 and preview of 2019 road construction projects in the Traverse City area. The meeting will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at the Traverse City Michigan Works building, 1209 S. Garfield Ave. The meeting is being hosted by the Traverse Transportation Coordinating Initiative (TTCI).
Representatives from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Grand Traverse County Road Commission, and the City of Traverse City will be at the meeting to provide an introduction to programmed 2019 road construction and BATA transit projects in the Traverse City area. They will also give presentations on the successes and challenges of the 2018 road construction season.
The event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
The mission of the Traverse Transportation Coordinating Initiative (TTCI) is to provide coordinated leadership and direction for the development and conduct of the continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning process for the Traverse City urban area. TTCI is a program of Networks Northwest.
The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
