Job Seeker Starts Nursing Career With Help From Michigan Works
Malachi Hildebrand became familiar with Northwest Michigan Works! services by participating in the Summer Youth Employment Program. Hildebrand plans to pursue a career in nursing, and in November of 2015 he came to Michigan Works! in Manistee to enroll in a CNA training program at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility. The staff at Michigan Works! helped Hildebrand with his employment application, background check, information session, and the pre-interview. He was accepted into the training and completed the program in December of 2015. Hildebrand became a Certified Nurse Aid in March of 2016 and has also enrolled in the Registered Nursing program at Baker College.
“Through Michigan Works I gained training experiences that set the career path for furthering my education in the healthcare industry to become a registered nurse,” said Hildebrand.
Our Township greatly benefits from Network Northwest's experience, depth of knowledge and understanding. Because they work with so many diverse communities in our ten-county region they understand the local land-use issues and are already working on solutions by the time we realize we need some help.
