Charlevoix County Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Input Sessions

September 21, 2023

The Charlevoix County Office of Emergency Management and Networks Northwest are working to update the County’s multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, which must be updated every five years in order for communities to apply for pre-disaster, hazard mitigation grant funds from FEMA. As part of the Hazard Mitigation Plan update, the County and Networks Northwest are holding four drop-in sessions in October of 2023, where the public can provide input on hazard concerns and potential mitigation strategies.

Hazards such as severe weather, wildfires, floods, invasive species and public health emergencies can have a significant impact on our families and our communities. The input sessions are an opportunity to help identify and reduce your community’s vulnerability to natural hazards – and thus reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property.

The input sessions will be held at the locations, dates and times listed below.
