Career Connection Coming to Boyne City and Petoskey
Job seekers have the chance to learn about job opportunities and improve their job search skills by getting involved with the new Career Connection in Boyne City and Petoskey. The next Petoskey meeting will be Tuesday, October 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Michigan Works Service Center located at 2225 Summit Park Drive. The next Boyne City meeting will be Tuesday, November 5 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Boyne District Library located at 201 East Main Street.
“The Boyne City and Petoskey Career Connections present open forum opportunities for job seekers to meet and network regarding employment opportunities in our area,” said Harold Love, Northwest Michigan Works! Business Liaison. “The meetings will be hosted by Michigan Works! professional staff who will provide valuable insight regarding hiring trends and current job openings. They will also help participants prepare for their next job.”
The October 29 Petoskey Career Connection and November 5 Boyne City Career Connection will each focus on “Your Elevator Pitch: Sell Yourself in 30 Seconds.” The meetings are open to all job seekers and there is no charge to attend. The groups meet every other Tuesday at each location, one week in Petoskey and the following week in Boyne City. Similar Career Connection groups meet on a regular basis in several other communities in northwest Lower Michigan.
