Housing Study and Strategy for Northwest Michigan
As part of the Regional Prosperity Initiative, Networks Northwest contracted with marketing consultants Land USA to develop target market analyses for each county in the region. These residential housing studies identify future market demand for various types of housing, based on analysis of existing and emerging demographic trends.
An understanding of housing market needs and preferences is important for communities working to attract investment and development. These studies are intended as resources for communities, nonprofits, the private sector, and others working to understand local housing needs and plan more effective housing initiatives.
Reports are available for all ten counties.

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
