NORTHWEST LOWER, MI – The Networks Northwest Board has elected a new Chair and Vice-Chair and re-elected its Chief Elected Official. The new officers were selected at the Board’s February meeting.

Sue Peters was elected as the new Board Chair. Peters is the Vice President of Human Resources for Munson Healthcare. She has served on the Networks Northwest Board since 2002 and has been the Vice-Chair for the last six years. Peters replaces previous Board Chair, Gary Fedus, who was term-limited out at the end of 2020.

"To be part of an organization that collaborates with community and business leaders for the betterment of this region, is something that is important to me,” said Peters.  “Providing opportunities to develop talent for this region is one way this organization is making a difference."

Benzie Bus Executive Director, Bill Kennis, was elected as the new Networks Northwest Board Vice-Chair. Kennis has served on the Board since 2014.

"It is an honor to serve on the Board as its Vice-Chair,” said Kennis. “Networks Northwest continues to prove itself as an indispensable asset to the region, and its business community, including the vetting and distribution of over $7,000,000 in direct financial assistance to area employers since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Charlevoix County Commissioner Chris Christensen was re-elected as the Networks Northwest Board’s Chief Elected Official. He has been on the Board since 2007 and has served as the top elected official since 2014.

"I am extremely honored to be selected as the Chief Elected Official of the Networks Northwest Board,” said Christensen. “In my role as a county commissioner, I see first-hand the importance Networks Northwest plays as a service provider to the many local units of government throughout the 10-county region. Moreover, I appreciate the board governance model of engaging both the public and private sector."
