Community Asked to Provide Input for Melrose Township Parks and Recreation Plan Update

News Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 22, 2022

MELROSE TOWNSHIP, MI – The Melrose Township Planning Commission is working with the Networks Northwest Community Development team to update the township’s Parks and Recreation Plan. The resulting plan will serve two key purposes. First, it will act as a guiding document related to recreation facility improvements in the township. Second, the updated plan will meet the requirements set forth by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR). A DNR-approved five-year Recreation Plan is a prerequisite for jurisdictions to apply for and receive funding from the state’s Land and Water Conservation Fund, Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, and Waterways grants.

As part of the Parks and Recreation Plan update process, Melrose Township residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in a community survey to provide input for the plan. A link to the survey can be found at nwm.org/MelrosePlan.

For any questions regarding Parks and Recreation Plan update, please contact Jennifer Neal at Networks Northwest at jennifer.neal@networksnorthwest.org.
