About the Plan

The overarching mission for the M-22 Benzie Manistee Corridor Management Plan is to promote and communicate about access to the M-22 corridor in Benzie and Manistee Counties and its assets. To provide an understanding of the designated route and goals for the corridor, the plan includes the following components:

  • Maps identifying the corridor boundaries
  • Information about population and land use along the corridor, including traffic counts
  • An inventory of corridor qualities including natural, historical, cultural, and recreational assets
  • Goals and objectives for the corridor
  • A list of projects and action steps
  • A financial plan

The M-22 Benzie-Manistee Pure Michigan Byway Nominating Team and Committee is comprised of representatives from local governing bodies and civic and non-profit groups, and works in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and with assistance from other agencies and organizations. Networks Northwest supported the process of the plan’s development and contracted with Parallel Solutions LLC to assist with writing the plan.

Our Township greatly benefits from Network Northwest's experience, depth of knowledge and understanding. Because they work with so many diverse communities in our ten-county region they understand the local land-use issues and are already working on solutions by the time we realize we need some help.
