Planners Review and Advisory Committee (PRAC)
The Planner’s Review and Advisory Committee (PRAC) is an advisory body to the Community Development Department of Networks Northwest. PRAC members include planners from the ten-county Networks Northwest region. Representatives from the three tribes in the region – the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians, the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, and the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians - as well as township, city, and village officials, staff from educational institutions and non-profit agencies, and staff from private firms are frequent attendees.
The PRAC meets periodically with members setting the agenda for the meeting. The meetings are designed as a forum to promote intergovernmental communication and coordination. Speakers from nonprofit organizations, state agencies, and private firms are often invited to present on special topics as requested by the planners. Speaking arrangements may take the form of casual discussions or information-sharing sessions or more formal presentations or workshops.
For more information about these meetings, please contact Mathew Cooke, Community Planner, at (231) 929-5056.
The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
