Plans for Public Review

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Regional and Local Plans – Public Comment Period

Northwest Michigan Works! is seeking public comment on the proposed mid-cycle modifications to its Regional and Local Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Regional and Local Plans.

Under WIOA, local Workforce Development Boards and Chief Elected Officials are required to develop and periodically update Regional and Local Plans that guide workforce development strategies, priorities, and investments. These plans must be reviewed and modified at least once during the four-year planning cycle.

The proposed plan updates are available for a 30-day public review and comment period. We encourage community members, employers, workforce partners, and other stakeholders to review the plans and provide feedback.

Public Comment Period: June 15, 2026 – July 15, 2026

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
- Mark Haydlauff, City Manager, Charlevoix
