Beaver Island Lighthouse School Scholarship May 2011

Kayla Bell, Beth Urech, and Mark GillinghamThe Beaver Island Lighthouse School 10-10-10 Scholarship was presented to Kayla Bell, of East Jordan, at the school's Spring 2011 Completion/Graduation Ceremony.

Beth Urech and Mark Gillingham were on hand to present the award at the Spring 2011 Completion/Graduation Ceremony held on May 11, 2011. The couple created the scholarship fund last year after being impressed by what they saw during a visit to the Beaver Island Lighthouse School. The 10-10-10 Scholarship is named for Urech and Gillingham's wedding date, October 10, 2010.

Urech said she and Gillingham were delighted to give Bell the $800 dollar scholarship. She plans to use it at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

"I'm so happy that they do this," said Bell. "It helps so much."

The Networks Northwest team did a great job to help the City of Charlevoix and Charlevoix Township collaborate in addressing housing challenges in our community. They facilitated dialogue with Planning Commissioners, community stakeholders, and municipal officials to develop a plan for cohesive zoning in areas of growth for our two governments. Further, they were able to pinpoint the challenges in each unit and propose changes that would be beneficial all around. Together, we believe we'll be better prepared for housing developments and job growth in our region. We look forward to working with them on future projects!
