Regional Apprenticeship Informational Luncheon June 25 in Grayling

NORTHERN LOWER, MI— All types and sizes of businesses, educational providers, and non-profit organizations from across northwest and northeast Lower Michigan are invited to attend an apprenticeship information luncheon, hosted by Kirtland Community College, on Tuesday, June 25 in Grayling. The workshop will run from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, in Community Room B at Kirtland Community College, 4800 W. 4 Mile Road.
The session will include an interactive discussion regarding what an apprenticeship is, the process of developing a program, and using apprenticeships to fill workforce gaps. Presenters include Kathleen Fox, Director of Workforce Development and Apprenticeships at Kirtland Community College, Natasha Allen, COO from Michigan Works! 7B, Collin Hoffmeyer, Business Solutions Manager from Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium, and Evelyn Szpliet, Northwest Michigan Works! Manager of Apprenticeships and Business Resource Networks.
There is no charge to attend the information session. Space is limited to 100 attendees, and guests should RSVP to Evelyn.Szpliet@networksnorthwest.org.
Registered apprenticeships are developed through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor and are a proven training method for employers to build a talent pipeline of highly skilled, educated employees. Registered apprenticeships are offered in over 1300 occupations and can be designed for any size or type of business.
