Regional Apprenticeship Information Luncheon August 16 in Scottville

NORTHERN LOWER, MI— All types and sizes of businesses, educational providers, and non-profit organizations are invited to attend an apprenticeship information luncheon Friday, August 16 in Scottville. The luncheon is being hosted by West Shore Community College in partnership with Northwest Michigan Works! and Michigan Works! West Central. The event will run from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Center Stage Theatre at West Shore Community College, Stiles Road, Scottville.

The session will include a registered apprenticeship presentation by Dave Jackson, Apprenticeship Training Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. The discussion will also include an expert employer panel answering questions regarding their experience with registered apprenticeship programs, review of potential funding opportunities, and an accelerated paperwork process.

Registered apprenticeships are developed through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor and are a proven training method for employers to build a talent pipeline of highly skilled, educated employees. Registered apprenticeships are offered in over 1300 occupations and can be designed for any size or type of business.
