Meetings Scheduled To Discuss Public Transit in Emmet County
PETOSKEY, MI – An ad hoc public transit committee of the Emmet County Board of Commissioners will hold two public meetings in early March to develop options for Board consideration. These meetings follow the Community Dialogue on Transit that was convened by Emmet County on January 31, 2018, to gather input from businesses, the public, health care and service providers, and other stakeholders, and a February 7 meeting with local government officials and public transit providers in Emmet, Cheboygan, and Charlevoix Counties.
The first of these follow-up meetings will be held on Thursday, March 1, at 10:00 am in the Board Room at the Emmet County Building, 200 Division Street in Petoskey. The agenda will focus on outlining various options for how to proceed toward providing a countywide public transit and outlining further work needed to develop more specific details and costs for each option.
The second meeting will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 10:00 am in the Board Room at the Emmet County Building, 200 Division Street in Petoskey. At this meeting, the Committee will continue its review of the options identified, with input from public transit providers and other experts.
All meetings are open to the public.
