Thys DeBruyn is President and co-founder of ADVANCE Resources and Consulting. He spent 24 years as a China specialist at the CIA, including two years as Chief of China Operations. Thys lived and worked in China for nine years; he speaks the language and knows the culture.
Since joining the consulting world in 2008, Thys has helped companies protect their technology and Intellectual Property in China and other high-risk foreign markets. Thys has worked with clients in the energy, aerospace, chemical/biochemical, nuclear, heavy equipment, pharmaceutical, agriculture and financial services industries.
Thys has a degree in Economics from Cornell University. He is a native of Traverse City, where he lives with his wife and two boys.
