JMG Students Prepare for the Next Steps in Their Career Paths

Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates students from two northern Michigan school districts have decided on the next steps in their career paths after graduating from high school this spring. Bryna Houghton graduated from Charlevoix High School and participated in the JMG program at the Char-Em CTE Welding Program in East Jordan. Celia Star Chief was a JMG participant and graduate at Casman Academy in Manistee.

Bryna has been accepted into Kirtland Community College’s Welding program in Gaylord. During her time in JMG, she attended the Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates Career and Development Day in Lansing. She is also the recipient of a Masons Scholarship and the Street Legends Scholarship.

Celia will be attending Northern Michigan University in Marquette for the Premedical program, which is the next step in reaching her lifelong dream of becoming a Pediatrician. Celia faced a variety of challenges and worked multiple jobs while going to school, but she was still able to graduate as her class Valedictorian. Celia also received several other special honors including Casman Academy’s Courage Award.

Congratulations to Bryna, Celia, and all the other JMG participants who graduated this spring!
