Northwest Michigan Works Learning Labs Offer Help Preparing for New GED Test

TRAVERSE CITY, MI—Northwest Michigan Works! Learning Labs are offering help for students preparing for the new GED test, which was revamped this year for the first time since 2002. The Learning Labs are open for new registrations and offer personalized scheduling and self-paced, individualized instruction.

The GED 2014 test emphasizes problem-solving over memorization and is designed to more quickly move people to college and career options that mean better wages, and ensure that adult learners are prepared for college and career training programs.

Any adult wishing to prepare for the GED test can register in person at any of the Learning Labs or by calling 800-442-1074. Classes are also available for adults who would like to complete their high school diploma, or improve their basic reading, writing, math, or computer skills. There is no cost to attend. Learning Labs are located in Benzonia, Cadillac, East Jordan, Kalkaska, Manistee and Traverse City. More information about the Learning Labs is available at: nwm.org/labs

Adult education services are available through the cooperative efforts of TBAISD, the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments, and Northwest Michigan Works!
