Auto and Diesel Technicians Night in Traverse City

Wednesday, March 5, 4:00 - 7:30 p.m., NMC Aero Park Campus

 

TRAVERSE CITY, MI –Auto and diesel technicians and people interested in entering that field will have an opportunity to talk shop with other techs and see the latest technologies at an Auto and Diesel Technicians Night in Traverse City. The event will be held Wednesday, March 5 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at NMC's Parsons-Stulen Building located at 2600 Aero Park Drive. The event is hosted by the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments (NWMCOG), Northwest Michigan Works!, and Northwestern Michigan College (NMC).

 

This is the second year for the Auto and Diesel Technicians Night which will showcase up-and-coming student techs from NMC and other colleges, vocational students, and experienced techs looking for new opportunities. Veterans with technical and mechanical skills are also encouraged to attend this specialized recruiting event that will allow employers to talk about their workplaces and educators to provide information about career pathways and training programs.

 

“Some of our local employers are hiring auto and diesel technicians from downstate or out of state,” said Michelle Socha, Northwest Michigan Works! business liaison. “We want to focus on filling those tech positions locally."

 

Admission to the Auto and Diesel Technicians Night is free and there will be car and equipment displays, tool giveaways and discounts, door prizes, and appetizers.

 

Exhibitors at the event will include Bill Marsh Auto Group, Ferris State University, Fox Motors, Grand Traverse Diesel Service, Grand Traverse County Road Commission, Hilltop Truck Maintenance, Just Trucks, Marathon Automotive, Northwest Michigan Works!, NMC, Sears Auto Center, Snap-on Tools, Star Truck Rentals, Team Elmer’s, U.S. Army, Watson’s Auto Group, Waterloo, and William’s Auto Group.
