Michigan Association of Planning's most popular program is coming to the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance in Boyne City on October 12. This program introduces new planning commissioners and zoning board of appeals members to their roles and responsibilities, and refreshes the skills and knowledge of more experienced officials.
The Michigan Association of Planning will explain everything you need to know to prepare and adopt a Capital Improvement Program, including: who should be involved in the Capital Improvement Program process; the accounting and budgetary requirements of a CIP; how to tie the program into your infrastructure capacity; and how to handle controversial topics. The workshop will also have an emphasis on energy management.
This program is being conducted expressly for local governments, transportation agencies, institutional organizations, businesses, and non-profit groups in Grand Traverse County.
