Trent Carpenter, CISSP
Sparrow Health System; formerly w/ State of Michigan

Trent has more than 20 years of experience in Information Security and is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Sparrow Health Systems. Formerly, he was the CISO for the State of Michigan and oversaw the State’s Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC). Trent is currently on the Board of Directors for Michigan InfraGard (a partnership between the FBI and private sector to protect critical infrastructure) and is a member of the Michigan Healthcare Cybersecurity Council (MiHCC). He was recently appointed by InfraGard to be Michigan’s Healthcare Sector Chief to coordinate efforts between the FBI and Michigan’s Healthcare industry.

Thys DeBruyn is President and co-founder of ADVANCE Resources and Consulting. He spent 24 years as a China specialist at the CIA, including two years as Chief of China Operations. Since joining the consulting world in 2008, Thys has helped companies protect their technology and Intellectual Property in high-risk foreign markets. Thys has worked with clients in many industries, including: energy, aerospace, chemical/biochemical, nuclear, heavy equipment, pharmaceutical, agriculture and financial services.
