Senator Stabenow Recognized for Support of Community Development Policies

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has received a 2018 Congressional Partnership Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for outstanding leadership in federal programs supporting regional economic and community development. Networks Northwest CEO, Matt McCauley, who is also a NADO board member, presented the award to Senator Stabenow at a NADO Conference in Washington, D.C.

“We are fortunate that all our federal elected officials understand and value the impact that community development has on rural Michigan,” said McCauley

“Senator Stabenow promotes communities and regions through her support of federal programs contributing to economic and community development. Her leadership has advanced regional development in key areas including infrastructure, workforce development, planning, and business assistance,” said NADO President, Doug Elliott.

The biennial awards program recognizes members of Congress who have supported policies contributing to NADO’s national legislative priorities, including funding for federal economic and community development programs as well as support for the work of regional development organizations at the local level.

The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) serves as the national voice of regional development organizations. The association advocates for federal community and economic development programs and policies that help local communities improve their economy and quality of life.

Our Township greatly benefits from Network Northwest's experience, depth of knowledge and understanding. Because they work with so many diverse communities in our ten-county region they understand the local land-use issues and are already working on solutions by the time we realize we need some help.
